![]() ![]() Made up by a turd who thinks their cleaver on the internet. Often, and depending on your system, this will take longer than actually downloading the game.Īctually that's a bunch of crap. If your internet is fast, there is no reason to preload, as you will have to go through an extra step on release which is the unpacking of the preloaded game files. Take in mind for some people, games like these can even take days to dowload. Preload is an option for those who have slow or limited internet, so they can at least have a jump start before the game releases. Preload is not a perk that lets people that preordered the game have access to it immediately upon release. There is a common misconception about preload. Again, consoles have better consistency with preloads. More often than not you will never get a midnight release simultaneously everywhere, they pick one place and then you just gotta' deal with the time that means for where you're located.Ĭonsoles typically have better midnight releases than PC.ĮDIT: No idea why this doesn't have preload, I'd assume because they're not some huge AAA game dev's and whether their choice or a choice from those above them, decided no preload. Different games release at different times due to the location of the developers/their choice of midnight timezone to release it at. if my ps4 was able to let me pre-load any game 72 hours before release (which was always 9pm the night before) there is no reason steam cant do the same Originally posted by Onl圜hance:Is there a reason why some games release at say 9pm the night BEFORE a game comes out and why some will release at 9am the MORNING of release and why it seems so many devs on steam seem not to let us pre-load? im newish to PC and this is by far one of the most annoying aspects to me. ![]()
